Pilot Weapons Training - Gunnery: US Navy NATC No. 2667, Gunnery Manual, 1944: Table of Contents

NATC No. 2667, Gunnery Manual, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, 10 July 1944.

Annotation by the web-master: This manual/pamphlet is a quite rare find indeed. It is not a printed official manual by the Navy, but a locally compiled pamphlet from Pensacola Air Station, reproduced by mimeograph. It is not known to me, whether it was issued to the instructors only or as a course book to the students as well.  At any gate, it gives the essentials of naval gunnery in one "shot".

Due to the method of initial production -  which was not of a very high standard to start with, given the method - and the time elapsed, some errors are likely. The illustrations are in some cases barely discernible. Most needed redrawing. To reduce errors - and to cling to authenticity - the originals are presented as well.

Foreword:

NAVAL AIR STATION PENSACOLA, FLORIDA
10 July 1944. Ground Gunnery Training Manual

This manual has been compiled primarily as an aid to Instructors and Flight Students. The contents are excerpts from numerous official sources. The information contained herein is suffcient to enable the Instructor to train his students effectively and to give the students a good working knowledge of the material covered

This manual was prepared with the assistance of the ground gunnery instructors. Their valuable advice and the excellent material they submitted has contributed greatly to the completeness of the subject material and in the compilation, editing and assembly of the manual.
